FLORIDA PALMS ARE AT RISK
OUR PALM HEALTH REGIMINE IS CUSTOM TAILORED TO YOUR TREES AND HIGHLY EFFECTIVE IN PREVENTING DISEASES SUCH AS:
-
A fatal phytoplasma disease spread by sap-feeding planthoppers that causes premature fruit drop, flower death, yellowing or bronzing of older fronds, and eventual death of the palm. There is no cure once symptoms appear.
Commonly affects all species of Date Palms and other Florida ornamentals.
-
A large native beetle whose larvae tunnel into the growing point (heart) of a palm, causing the crown to collapse and killing the tree. It most commonly attacks stressed, recently transplanted, over-pruned, or damaged palms, although some species may be attacked while healthy. Early detection is difficult, and heavily infested palms cannot be saved.
Commonly affects several species of palm found in Central Florida.
-
A few of the most common fungal diseases affecting palms in Central Florida include:
Bud Rot – A destructive disease caused by several fungi and fungus-like organisms that attack the palm's growing point (bud). Symptoms include yellowing or browning of the newest fronds, spear leaf collapse, foul-smelling decay, and eventual death of the palm if the bud is destroyed. Bud rot is most common after prolonged wet weather, cold damage, or injury to the crown.
Thielaviopsis Trunk Rot – A lethal trunk rot that enters through wounds, causing rapid internal decay and sudden trunk failure. Most common on stressed or recently transplanted palms.
Fusarium Wilt – A vascular disease that causes one-sided yellowing and death of fronds before spreading through the canopy. Most common on Queen and Mexican Fan palms.
Quarterly scheduled visits give peace of mind that your palm will always be living its best life.
“I am terrible at keeping plants alive, and after buying my house I realized that also extends to the trees outside. Tom stopped by and gave me some great recommendations on fertilizer and watering so that hopefully my avocado tree and palm come back to full life. He is so knowledgeable and truly cares about trees and his work. I highly recommend”

Our Services
Every tree begins with an initial consultation. Based on individual needs and risks a palm health care regime is developed and applied quarterly.
-
Quarterly application of palm specific slow release fertilizer. Florida soil often lacks the minerals and nutrients needed for ornamental palms to thrive. Fertilization is key in keeping your palms lush, vibrant, and healthy.
-
Many species of ornamental palms are at risk to a host of diseases and insect induced trauma.
We are one of the few Plant Health Care specialists in central Florida licensed to apply insecticide to palm trees. Coupled with anti-biotic injections, Date Palms, Sylvesters and other susceptible palm species are offered a high level of protection against Lethal Bronzing and Palmetto Weevels.
-
Several types of fungus prey on palm trees. We offer preventative fungicidal root drenches and foliar sprays.
Our tecs also provide inspections on quarterly service visit and if fungus is detected we act can act quickly to eradicate it.
